Thomas T. Willis, DMD

Dr. Thomas T. Willis received his received his Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He completed a general practice residency and served on active duty for 5 years in the US Army Dental Corps.

A retired Major, he has practiced dentistry in Decatur since 1982. Dr. Willis is a member of the American Dental Association, Alabama Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and the Wilson-Chanault Study Group.

Dr. Willis has been a member of the Academy of General Dentistry since 1979. During this time he was awarded the Fellowship in 1987 and the Mastership in 2003 for his commitment to continuing education throughout his carreer in dentistry. The Fellowship award is given to the dentist after completion 600 hours of CE. The Mastership award is given to the dentist after completion of an additional 600 hours, of which 400 hours must be hands on participation courses. There are only a few hundred general dentists in the nation that have obtained the mastership level. He has been a member of the American and Alabama Dental Associations since 1978. He was awarded the Silver Certificate for 25 years of consecutive membership in 2003.

Dr. Willis is a member of First United Methodist Church in Decatur, AL., where his practice is located and volunteers with Boy Scouts of America. He and his wife Jane have 5 children and 3 grandchildren.
